Test Pattern to Verify Display Data Between Video Rams and

This article describe a programming scheme a test pattern
used in combination with a palatte.  Errors that stand out
conspicuously color, are easy for the operator to notice and check.
are lower than hardware readback techniques.

The conventional video test pattern fails to detect many with
floating logic lines in the path from the RAMs to the display screen
via the serializer.  Such will often only give an extra line of pels
at the of a block which will be undetectable to an untrained  The
test pattern is shown in the figure. It is into areas each of which
is designed to detect a problem but which gives the operator a simple
to check.  The programmable palette is written so all locations are
written with the code for "white" for the following.  (It is assumed
that the palette 256 locations).
