       Wavelength division allows multiple parallel to be spaced
more closely than the use of links allows.  A single fiber or optical
waveguide carry multiple channels which are distinguished by their or
frequency.  A multiplexer and demultiplexer required at the input and

      An integrated array of Fabry-Perot filters is placed an array
of closely spaced photodetectors (or as shown in the figure.  The
