Form Feed Stabilizer

Disclosed is a device to minimize axial and revolutional
play of such a shaft driven via a gear train.

Such plays of a paper feed roller, for example, could degrade
print registration of printer.  To overcome this problem,
conventionally, a wave washer is implemented. However, its spring
constant is steep, so a related component must have high accuracy to
obtain reasonable spring force.

The stabilizer shown in figure is molded with polyurethane
rubber to give friction to the roller shaft and works as a brake. The
rim helps easy assembling.
