Abstract

This device acoustically isolates a tube axial fan from it's mounting surface. The isolation reduces the mechanical vibration transmitted to the fan-mounting surface. This design can be adapted to many variations in fan housing designs and mounting surface thicknesses by adjusting the lengths and diameters of A and B (see figure). Materials such as neoprene would be typical, with the durometer varying with the amount of isolation required and the weight of the fan.
