Abstract

Scanning and copying documents that are printed on both sides can result in "show through" artifacts. This means that information from the other side of a thin document that is scanned or copied can appear as shadows in the output because of light reflecting back through the document. These shadows can be eliminated by using a black backing behind the document. As necessary, the color and type of backing can be changed by using interchangeable backings.

Improvement in Scanning Or Copying of Documents

Scanning and copying documents that are printed on both
sides can result in "show through" artifacts.  This means that
information from the other side of a thin document that is scanned or
copied can appear as shadows in the output because of light
reflecting back through the document. These shadows can be eliminated
by using a black backing behind the document.  As necessary, the
color and type of backing can be changed by using interchangeable
backings.
