Adjustable Shock Support

This article describes an adjustable one-piece device to
support an array of different-length expansion boards horizontally or
vertically.

The device is of a one-piece construction with flexible tenons
on one end.  The tenons 1 and 2 face each other and provide a double
function.  With the flexible tenons facing each other a large
spectrum of support wall 3 thickness can be used.  A support wall
having a slot 4 is necessary for this device.  Attachment of the
device to the support wall is be aligning the tenons 1 with the slot
4 in the support wall 3 and rotating 90 degrees.  The tenons 1 and 2
become pressurized against the inside and outside of the support wall
to hold the device in place and give structural strength.  A groove
5, provided in the device, identifies as a support shelf for the
expansion board.  The edge of the expansion board 6 rests in the
groove 5 of the device.  With the device adjustable within the groove
of the support wall a infinite number of expansion board lengths are
possible.  Arrangement of attachment of the device also provides
shock resistance for the board.  The device may be horizontally
stacked if support for more than one expansion card is desired.

This device is applicable to any project where support to
expansion boards horizontally or vertically is desired or required.
