Reuse Same Search Criteria in Subsequent Searches

This article describes a method whereby a library user
can save the search criteria used in a search and reuse the same
search criteria in subsequent searches.

A library user may wish to perform search function using the
same search criteria over and over again.  To support this
capability, the search criteria that was used must be able to be
stored away and later on be able to be reused in subsequent searches.
No mechanism prior to this architecture exists in the Document
Interchange Architecture to support this function.

This article provides a mechanism whereby a library user can
create a set of search criteria which can be stored away and later on
be able to be reused in subsequent searches.  This is provided by
allowing the library user to create a set of search criteria and
store the search criteria in a document, and by allowing the library
user to specify this stored search criteria information in the
operand section of the SEARCH command in subsequent searches.
