Specify Unique Name for Document Moved

This article describes a method for library users to
specify the unique document name for the document moved from a folder
to another folder.

A library user may wish to move a document from a folder to
another folder.  While the move operation is performed, the library
user may wish to specify the unique document name for the document
moved. No mechanism exists in the Document Interchange Architecture
to support this function.

This article provides a mechanism whereby a library user can
specify the unique document name for the document moved from a folder
(source folder) to another folder (target folder). This capability is
provided by defining the syntax and the semantics of an UNIQUE-NAME
operand in the MOVE command. Library users can specify the unique
document name of the document moved via this new operand.
