Update Search Results Document in Subsequent Searches

This article describes a method whereby a library user
can update any specific search results documents in subsequent
searches.

A library user may wish to perform a search and be able to
store the search results in the same Search Results Document that was
created before.   No mechanism prior to this architecture exists in
the Document Interchange Architecture to support this function.

This article provides a mechanism whereby a library user can
specify that the search results be stored in the same Search Results
Document that was created earlier in a SEARCH command. This
capability is supported by specifying the information of the existing
Search Results Document in the operand section of the SEARCH command.
