Drag Away Pull-Down Interaction

This article describes different interaction techniques
for the creation and use of "drag away" pull-downs given the current
CUA direct manipulation and selection techniques.

Drag away pull-downs are simply action bar pull-downs that are
separated from the action bar.  Users may elect to create drag away
pull-downs from frequently used pull-downs to avoid having to go to
the action bar just to access an action or property setting.

Pull-downs that can be dragged away from the action bar should
have some graphic to act as a visual cue.  An appropriate icon or a
thicker border could serve as that cue.

The drag away pull-down can be created by selecting the icon or
by dragging action bar entry that produced the pull-down.  Creating
the drag away pull-down results in a new window that has a
non-sizable border, a title bar whose title is the same as the action
bar entry that produced the pull-down, and a system menu with move
and close enabled.

Once created, the drag away pull-down can be moved or closed.
It behaves like a secondary window or non-modal dialog.  Users can
choose action from the drag away pull-down or from the original
pull-down.
