Move Documents From a Folder to Another Folder

This article describes an interchange mechanism to allow
library users to move document(s) from a folder to another folder in
a Document Interchange Architecture (DIA) Library.

A library user may wish to move a document from a folder to
another folder in a DIA library.  To perform this function, the user
has to issue a REMOVE command, followed by an ADD command. If any of
these two commands failed to be executed, the user has to manually
redo the operations.  No mechanism exists in the Document Interchange
Architecture whereby this "move" function can be performed in one
unit of work.

This article provides a mechanism whereby a library user can
perform the "move" function (i.e., to move a document from a folder
to another folder) in one unit of work.

This capability is provided by defining a new command, MOVE, in
the Document Interchange Architecture.  This command allows library
users to move document(s) from a folder to another folder in one unit
of work.
