Abstract

In Kana-to-Kanji conversion, in order to express a variety of KATAKANA forms in spite of one meaning, the dictionary and program will create (convert) them with input YOMI and without all pairs of YOMI and SEISHO. That is, only a single pair of YOMI and SEISHO will express various KATAKANA candidates. The main reason for this invention is that Japanese write foreign words in different ways of KATAKANA expressions.

Various Katakana Expressions With a Single Entry in Kana/Kanji Conversion

In Kana-to-Kanji conversion, in order to express a
variety of KATAKANA forms in spite of one meaning, the dictionary and
program will create (convert) them with input YOMI and without all
pairs of YOMI and SEISHO.  That is, only a single pair of YOMI and
SEISHO will express various KATAKANA candidates.  The main reason for
this invention is that Japanese write foreign words in different ways
of KATAKANA expressions.

In current Kana-to-Kanji conversion, all YOMI and SEISHO pairs
in a dictionary enable conversion of foreign words as follows.

'VOLUNTEER' in English can be written in KATAKANA forms:
           'bo_ra_n_ti-a'
           'u"_xo_ra_n_ti_a'
           'bo_ra_n_chi_a'
           'u"_xo_ra_n_chi_a', etc.
      (" means DAKUTEN in Japanese).
      The characteristics are as follows.
      - Dictionary space saving.

KATAKANA entries in a dictionary almost always require several
forms to show one meaning.  The invention will encourage us to
collect KATAKANA words unique in meaning.
   - Ease in picking out one KATAKANA form from several forms.

We will show our method and configuration.  We have one way of
KATAKANA YOMI form in a dictionary.  By comparing, or matching with
KATAKANA YOMI in a dictionary and input YOMI, we will generate
different KATAKANA expressions.
