Interactive APPC Communication Resource Management in Real Time

       A program is disclosed that gives the user the ability to
interactively control system performance and manage communication
resources in real time.

      The OS/2* Extended Edition supports supports the function of
Subsystem Management, a function that allows the user of a
communication system to manage and refine the system to allow for
better performance while in actual use.

      The scope of Subsystem Management entails several aspects of
the communications environment.  Included in the Subsystem Management
functions are:
   - Transaction Program Services:  Allows the user to display a list
of all active Transaction programs known in the APPC system.  This
also includes detailed information. The user may also deactivate one
or more of the Transaction Programs active in the system.
      - Session Services:  This service allows the user to view All
LU 6.2 sessions, non 6.2 sessions, activate sessions and deactivate
sessions.
      - Data Link Control (DLC) Services:  This service allows the
user to either activate or deactivate the DLCs.  The supported DLCs
are:  IBM Token-Ring, IBM PC Networks and SDLC.
      - Adjacent Link Station Services:  This service allows the user
to display and deactivate one or more of the known Adjacent Links.
      - Attach Manager Services:  This service allows the user to
start and stop the Attach Manager.
