Hard Disk Drive

Disclosed is a hard disk drive which is suitable for
resisting external shock or vibration.  The hard disk drive has a
spindle motor which is fixed through a damping rubber.

The figure shows the cross section of the hard disk drive.  The
spindle motor shown in the figure, which consists of a hub, a magnet,
a core, a coil and two bearings, is one of a dead shaft type.  The
damping rubber 1 is fixed on one end of a motor shaft 2 and pressed
down by a top cover 3.  The other end of the shaft 2 is inserted
and bonded to a motor flange 4.  The purpose of providing the rubber
is to suppress vibration of the spindle motor shaken by external
shock or vibration.
