Application of Dehumidifier for Breather Filter

       Disclosed is a component for a protection of humidity
diffusion into a disk enclosure through a breather filter. The
breather filter comprises a humidity absorption material
(CERA-WHITE*) and a particulate filter.  This component has utility
for Hard Disk Drives.

      Fig. 1 shows a schematic illustration of a disk enclosure and a
location of a humidity absorption breather filter.  Fig. 2 shows a
cross-sectional view of the humidity absorption breather filter.  As
it is shown in Fig. 2, a humidity absorption material is included in
the breather filter and it is a tablet foam.

      The breather filter is connected to atmosphere through a
passage on a top cover.  Thus, air from the surrounding atmosphere
may enter into the disk enclosure through a humidity absorption
material, that is, dried air can enter into the whole enclosure.

      The employment of the humidity absorption material in the
breather filter provides high reliability and long lifetime of the
hard disk drives.
