Blower And Muffler Housing

       In electrophotographic copiers and printers distinct air
paths are required for several functions, such as detack, paper
transport, etc.  A housing is described which incorporates components
of various air paths, for example, mufflers and blowers in a single
molded unit.

      A filter housing 10 incorporates chambers for three separate
air paths and is made as a single molded unit.  It is mounted in the
frame of the copier/printer.  Openings 7, 8, and 9 are shown in the
figure for the insertion of filter elements into each of the three
separate air paths.

      Chamber 11 contains blower 12 which draws air from filter
housing 10 at port 13 and supplies air to the paper transport through
port 14.  Chamber 11 is shaped in the form of a scroll which acts as
a housing for blower 12.

      Double blower 15 and 16 slides into chamber 17 on air inlet
tubes 18 and 19.  Air from the detack is drawn from filter housing 10
at port 20 through chambers 21 and into blower 15.  Detack air is
moved from blower 15 into chamber 22 and on out of the machine.
Chambers 21 and 22 are insulated and act as mufflers.

      Blower 16 draws air from the document feeder through muffler
chamber 24 and exits the air through muffler chamber 23 located at
the lower rear portion of molded unit 10.

      The unit is inexpensive and simplifies servicing.
