Reinking Roller Housing

Disclosed is a device for closely controlling
interference between a fabric ribbon reinking roller and its transfer
roller.

By incorporating the reinking roll housing and idler
gear/transfer roller into a single, molded piece, a fabric ribbon can
be reinked with no degradation in print quality due to uneven ink
transfer.  The housing minimizes allowance, controlling the amount of
interference between reinking roller and transfer roller.  It is this
interference which meters the ink transferred to the fabric ribbon.

This housing simplifies the base cartridge mold, decreases the
number of parts required to spring load the ribbon drive gears and
allows the design freedom to reink the ribbon on the paper side of
the fabric.
