Display Switching Method for Multipurpose Transparent Display

Disclosed is a method for display content switching of a
transparent display device which is mounted on the desk top, the top
cover of the printer, and so on.

In Fig. 1, the use of the device is shown.  The transparent
display device 2 is mounted on the desk top 1. The dotted line frame
3 means the rotated position of the device 2 to display an image over
the slip 4 placed on the desk top.  The arrow 5 is the eye direction
to watch the screen including characters and image on the device 2,
and the arrow 6 is the eye direction to watch the screen over the
slip.

In the method described, a device operator can see two types of
information in each suitable device position.  Fig. 2 shows the
method which can be any combination of software, firmware and/or
hardware.

If the image control unit 8 is informed the rotation of the
device by the position signal 11, it sends the switching information
12 to the data selector 7 and the reverse command 13 to the scanning
unit 9.

Then, the data selector 7 selects data A or B according to the
switching information 12 and sends the image data 14 to the scanning
unit 9.  The unit 9 changes the scan direction according to the
reverse command and outputs the signal 15 to the transparent display
10.
