File Anti-Contamination Doors

       Disclosed is a door device which restricts the flow of
circulating or stagnant air from entering through the throat or
around the bezel of a compact disk.

      If air containing any form of dust particles is allowed to
enter a compact disk file it will significantly reduce the life of
the file to an unacceptable level by contaminating the head.  The
five-year expected life of the file will be reduced to four months if
a clean compact disk is not maintained.

      The disclosed design restricts air from entering the file
regardless of the file being active or inactive.

      The cartridge 7 is inserted through the throat 10 of the file
bezel 1 in the direction of the arrows.  The cartridge 7 slides
through the rubber top door 6 and rubber bottom door 8.  Fig. 1 shows
a sequence of progression of how the top door 6 and the bottom door 8
appear when inserting the compact disk.  The top door 6 is the same
length as the bottom door 8; however, the top door 6 has a reduced
curved material thickness 11 at the end. This reduced material
thickness 11 on the top door 6 results in an earlier flex of the
rubber material causing the top door 6 to leave the cartridge 7 and
close to position 9 before the bottom door 8.  The thin curved rubber
section 11 on the top door 6 is flattened out at position 9 by the
bottom door 8 which has a greater material thickness to resist
bending more than the top door 6.  This insures a tight...
