PEP System/DPRS Interface And Selectable Help Function

Disclosed is a program which allows ED (Engineering
Change) worksheets and Bills of Material (B/M) worksheets to be
loaded into the corporate Development and Production Records System
(DPRS).  In order to assist the user in conforming to corporate
standards, the PEP Selectable Help function is provided.

By utilizing the PEP/DPRS Interface and PEP Selectable Help,
the quality, accuracy, and integrity of data is insured.  The
PEP/DPRS Interface is the core of the PEP system (Paperless
Engineering change Processing), with Selectable Help setting the
standard for information processing.  PEP is a relational database
(SQL/DS)-based paperless EC processing system designed to create,
update, approve, track, and transmit an EC package electronically.

PEP/DPRS INTERFACE: The PEP/DPRS Interface allows the
information entered from the PEP EC Worksheet and the PEP B/M
Worksheet to be directly loaded into DPRS.  The PDA is no longer a
data entry person but an Administrative Data Assistant to the Product
Design Group.  The update authority to DPRS still remains with the
PDA, but the need for him typing DPRS transactions is eliminated.
The PDA is the one who permits PEP to submit the data to DPRS.

The PEP/DPRS Interface is a unique concept because only one
person is actually creating the DPRS transactions from the
Development Engineering data and simultaneously updating DPRS via the
PEP-disconnected machine.

The PDA initiates the loading of information into DPRS by
pressing the Load DPRS PF key within the PEP EC Worksheet or the PEP
B/M Worksheet.  He is then prompted for his IMS passwork for DPRS.  A
request file is then sent to the PEP-disconnected machine informing
PEP of the PDA, the EC or B/M to...
