Requesting Disclosure of Recipients

This article describes a method in IBM's Document
Interchange Architecture (DIA) which permits an originator of a
distribution to request that the transport mechanism used for
delivery convey to the recipients all individuals to whom the
transport mechanism has sent the document.

The Interchange Document Profile (IDP) is currently used by DIA
services to describe the characteristics of a document as a whole.
Enterprises can interchange information as to an originator's request
that a recipient should not be informed as to who were the other
recipients of the distribution by providing a self-defining field
within the IDP. This field can interchange information regarding if
disclosure of other recipients should occur by articulating a boolean
value of TRUE to represent that the originator of the distribution
has requested that the recipients of the distribution should not be
notified of all other recipients of the distribution.
