Hinged Operator Panel

Disclosed is a double-hinged operator panel assembly.
The purpose of the two hinge points is to swing the panel out of
position for maintenance and to continue to have full function of the
operator panel.

Fig. 1 shows that operator panel 7 is mounted to hinge plate 1
by snapping it onto the four studs 8.  Hinge plate 1 is attached to
hinge plate 2 by pivot pin 4 to provide a pair of plates that fold
back onto each other.  Pivot plate 2 mounts onto pivot pins 3 which
are part of mounting bracket 5.  With the operator panel in the
normal operating position, clamping screw 6 (see Fig. 2) is tightened
to mounting bracket 5 making the hinge a solid member rigidly
mounting the operator panel.

Cable 9, which carries power and signal to the operator panel,
is routed around hinge plate 1 back toward pivot pin 4 then folded
back onto itself.  Cable 9 is sandwiched between plates 1 and 2
during normal operation, and is allowed to unfold and extend in
service mode so the operator panel remains functional.
