"Security" System for Program Administration

Disclosed is a system process for the collecting,
disseminating, and reporting of information (see the figure).

This system process is designed to collect information from
multiple sources and disseminate this information electronically to
effected business areas.  In addition, the process will also develop
"Trend" reports which eliminate the need for manual review and
analysis of information.

"Security" consists of batch and online processing. The online
portion of the system uses a DB2* database and runs on MVS.  Panels
allow individuals to enter data and run reports online.  The panels
are controlled by "Dbedit" (Database Editor) with front-end DMS
(Dialog Management System) panels to make system access easier.
Canned QMF* (Query Management Facility) reports can be invoked from
the panels without exiting the system.  One-time reports can be
generated from QMF directly by using SQL (Structured Query Language)
queries.

Batch processing is used by the system primarily to accept and
process requests and send notifications to system users through VM
environments.  MVS clists control formatting and dissemination of
notifications through VM as PROFS* notes.
