Screw Extractor/Standoff for Cable EMC Ground

Disclosed is a specially designed mechanical part that
provides multiple functions integrated into a two-piece hardware
implementation.

This screw extractor/standoff was designed to permit customer
installation of an adapter feature in IBM controllers installed in
European countries where strict EMC requirements must be met.

Referring to Fig. 1, the screw extractor/standoff contains a
cylindrical shaft 1 with straight knurls 2 on both ends.  One end of
the shaft contains a female socket 3. The opposite end of the shaft
consists of an external mail thread 4.  Integral to both ends there
is a through hole 5 which accepts a solid cylindrical shaft 6.  Shaft
6 functions as a "T Handle" when inserted in one of the through holes
5.

Fig. 2 illustrates the screw extraction/standoff capabilities
of the disclosed design.
