Identify the Enterprise Specific Search Terms Table in Document Interchange Architecture

       This article describes a method for identifying an
enterprise specific search terms table in a Document Interchange
Architecture (DIA) library.

      Many IBM office product customers have expressed a requirement
that they be able to file any object into a DIA Library, and to be
able later to search on not only search terms with the architecture
defined semantics (Author, Keyword, etc.), but also search terms that
express syntax and semantics defined by their particular business
enterprises.  No mechanism prior to this invention disclosure exists
in DIA to provide this function.  This article describes a method for
identifying an enterprise, and an enterprise-specific search terms
table (which may be used to parse or build an enterprise-specific
search term) in DIA.

      The following new mechanism is provided to first define what an
enterprise is, and to identify an enterprise in DIA: An enterprise is
defined in DIA as a unit of economic organization.  It may be a
conglomerate, a company, a division within a company, a set of
departments within a company, or a single department within a
company. It is identified by its unique identifier (such as the
enterprise name) and optionally the national language support
information in DIA.
