Autolock Characterization And Test System

       Described is a characterization and test system for
remotely checking and characterizing the behavior of an "Autolock"
mechanism.

      The Autolock Characterization and Test System is an automated
test system composed of nine building blocks (see the figure).  The
heart of the system is a PS/2 Mod 30 (1). The computer is used to
sequence the events and capture pertinent characterization variables.
This information is then sent to a master PC (4) via a LAN network
(2) for data archival and SPC.  The autolock to be tested is
interfaced to the PC via the pick detector card (5).  This card
provides both analog and digital signals to the PC for processing
autolock behavior.  The data acquisition, voltage stimulus, and tool
control are performed via a high speed D/A converter card, a D/A
card, and a configurable DI/DO card (9) plugged into the PC Bus (3).
External tool control (6,7,8) is performed via the DI/DO card.  The
entire system is under software control.

      The testing sequence is as follows:
      1.  Autolock is presented to tester.
      2.  Autolock is stimulated.
      3.  Data sampling triggered via stimulus.
      4.  Data analyzed for Autolock characteristics.
