Changing Between Different LAN Environments

This disclosure provides a method to change a
configuration file between Token-Ring, PC Network, and Etherand
without requiring another prototype configuration file.

A previous method required Token-Ring, PC Network, Etherand to
be defined as a specific resource.  The old format is retained for
migration.  A new format is provided where the resource is LAN (and
not a specific type of adapter), which supports a parameter to change
between different kinds of adapters.  There are products in the field
which support bridges between different kinds of protocols.  This
will help to manage the configuration file easily, when a user moves
from one group to another, which has a different LAN environment.

      Example of LAN resource function:
              FNM P1    /* Unique file name P1 */
 LAN P111               /* P111 identifies the */
/* type of LAN adapter */.
