Abstract

The ink screening of printed circuit features which combines large and small features is often of poor quality. For instance, screening of large features with a small mesh results in a poor print. Also, screening small features with a large mesh results in a poor print. By combining mesh sizes according to feature size results in optimum print quality.

Multiple Mesh On Single Mask for Extrusion Type Screening

      The ink screening of printed circuit features which combines
large and small features is often of poor quality.  For instance,
screening of large features with a small mesh results in a poor
print.  Also, screening small features with a large mesh results in a
poor print.  By combining mesh sizes according to feature size
results in optimum print quality.

      A design given in the example is the illustration in which
different sized mesh permits the ideal screening.

      The mask consists of as many different mesh configurations as
required by the design.  As shown in the example, different sized
holes and their placement results in the desired configuration for
screening.
