List Card File Style Edit Mode

This article describes a facility for a user viewing a card
file style of list to type commands over card headers (e.g., send /
to Joe) or to modify the text of a card header.

The user needs the ability to either change the text of a card
file header or key in a command over a card file header.

The solution provided allows applications (through a message)
the ability to change the current mode of the list Card File to Edit
Mode.  Once in Edit Mode, the user can, by pressing mouse button 1
over a card file header, indicate that he wishes to input data at
this point in the header. The user then types in the text he/she
desires and presses Enter.  The list control will then send the
application a message containing a pointer to the entered new text.
The text entered does not change the underlying data in the Card File
list.  The application must explicitly send a message to the list
requesting the data be changed permanently.  The list will
automatically scroll the underlying text to the right as the user
keys in the text he desires.
