Compressible EMI Suppression Block

      Compressible EMI suppression block consists of a thin, highly
flexible metallic cloth/mesh material wrapped completely over a
compressible block, such as foam, sponge, etc.

      The compressible block can easily be shaped or manipulated to
fill frame openings or apertures of electronic equipment (computers,
etc.), since the openings and aperatures usually are sources of
electromagnetic interference (EMI) leakage paths.  Since the
compressible block is highly conductible, it shorts out the opening
or aperture and thus eliminates or reduces the unwanted EMI emission.
For treatment of magnetic field problems, high permeability material
is used for shorting out the magnetic field.

      The disclosed block can be used as the primary or backup EMI
fix; it can be used as a field fix to retrofit existing customers'
equipment since it is easy to design, implement and install.
