Passive Latch Disk Clamp

      The figure illustrates a disk clamping spindle.  The spindle 1
permits a greater vacuum clamping force due to torque transmitted to
a cap 2 via a drive pin 3.

      The passive latch disk clamp comprises base spindle 1 with a
circumferential hole pattern 4 on its top surface. The mating cap 2
has  a drive pin 3 that locates in a random hole in the top of
spindle 1.  The mating of the cap to the spindle transmits a torque
to both sides of a disk.
