Abstract

Fig. 1 illustrates a profile of sheet metal tubes 2 and 4. Tubes 2 and 4 are spot welded together. A resulting structure 8 in Fig. 2 is easily modified and is used to form a skeletonized frame shown in Fig. 3 by projection welding ten structures 8 together.

Sheet Metal Tubular Structure Resistance Projection Weld

      Fig. 1 illustrates a profile of sheet metal tubes 2 and 4.
Tubes 2 and 4 are spot welded together.  A resulting structure 8 in
Fig. 2 is easily modified and is used to form a skeletonized frame
shown in Fig. 3 by projection welding ten structures 8 together.

      Fig. 1 illustrates a sheet metal tube 2 which is bent in a
box-shape with flanges 6 as shown.  A sheet metal tube 4 is spot
welded onto tube 2 along flanges 6.  Resulting structure 8 in Fig. 2
is modified by cutting flanges 6 and tubes 4 down to sizes such that
a variety of structures are projection welded together to form a
durable frame shown in Fig. 3.  The frame is fabricated to permit a
cover to be placed on it.
