Dimple for Magnetic Slider

      The figure illustrates a placement of a slider load dimple
relative to a slider air bearing surface (ABS).

      A small socket 1 of any configuration easily obtained that
provides lateral and depth control for a sphere 2 is provided on a
back surface of a slider 3 relative to a slider ABS 4.  A small
stainless-steel ball 2 is bonded into socket 1 to provide a dimple
surface or load point.  A flexure 5 has a hole 6 in its surface to
allow sphere 2 to protrude through flexure 5 and make contact with a
load beam 7.  Hole 6 is larger than sphere 2 so as not to interfere
with the surface of sphere 2.
