Pneumatic Module Insert/Extract Tool

A process tool has been enhanced to insert socketed modules
where the insertion force must be controlled to protect sensitive
devices or minimize thermal grease displacement.

This design depicts a pressure- and speed-regulated pancake air
cylinder precisely controlling insertion force and rate driving an
appropriately configured extender block to deliver the required or
specified module insertion force. The jaws are designed to apply
force only to module and socket, while not disturbing the PCB.
Interchangeable jaws and air line reversal facilitate conversion from
insert to extract tool.
