Abstract

A solenoid spool valve for controlling the flow of transmission fluid through a transmission of any type, including but not limited to a dual clutch transmission. Valves of this type will typically include a pressure sensor operably engaged to the valve that will sense the amount of pressure flowing though the valve. The present invention seeks to integrate the sensor onto the valve housing. This design will have several advantages including better pressure monitoring sense the sensor is integrated with the valve, more compact package size since the addition of a sensor to the valve body only slightly enlarges the overall unit size, and allowing the sensor itself to be accessible for easy replacement. The type of sensor VFS valve arrangement disclosed herein can be used in any type of valve application where direct pressure control is needed.
