Description

Household appliance manufacturers have placed "internet refrigerators" on the market with graphic color displays certainly capable of displaying photographs that could be downloaded from websites.  These products typically have wired serial connections.

In accordance with the proposed design, the user takes picture(s) with a handheld digital camera, cellphone, or PDA (hereafter referred to as digital device) and temporarily stores them in digital device.  The number of pictures that can be stored depends on memory in digital device. When the user is ready to download pictures into refrigerator mounted display, the digital device is brought into proximity of refrigerator. (Infrared technology such as IRDA requires line-of-sight to transmit, other wireless RF technologies such as "Bluetooth" only require proximity).  The user activates download by pressing appropriate button(s) or touch pad(s) on digital device and/or graphic display to download the desired picture(s).  The actual details of the download procedure depend upon the operating systems...
