Spindle Balance Method

      A method to provide a two-plane spindle balance is disclosed.

      The balance mass is provided by a liquid adhesive placed in
shallow grooves 1 (see the figure).  The spindle 2 is then spun above
its critical speed, the liquid is allowed to stabilize, and then is
cured to a solid mass in position while the spindle is still
spinning, to provide balance in both planes.
