Preprocessing Command Options

A method for preprocessing command options is described.  It is
common for one command option to be dependent on the presence or
value of one or more other command options. Following is a
description of one solution to this problem of option dependencies.

This method employs a table for saving the preprocessed command
options for later use.  This table will be indexed by the value of
the option flag (i.e., the information for option flag 'a' will be
the first entry in the table and the information for option flag 'z'
will be the 26th entry in the table.).  Each entry in the table will
contain the number of times the user entered the corresponding option
and a linked list of pointers to the value entered for that option.
The command code will refer to the table for all further option
processing.

By reading in and preproccessing all options, it will not be
necessary to place order restrictions on the entering of options, nor
will it be necessary to read in the user's options multiple times.
