Abstract

By taking advantage of differential solubility, an imaged polymer can be fabricated (without crosslinking the polymer) via the use of a photoresist as an etch mask. Given the correct properties, the resulting imaged polymer can then be used to selectively bond areas of one substrate to another. The joining of printed circuit board layers is one possible application. The process is summarized below. (Image Omitted)
