Expandable Book Logic Cage

A method for using extruded parts to manufacture a flexible
logic cage assembly is disclosed.  (A logic cage houses any number of
individual circuit cards which connect into a common backpanel).

By using extruded parts for front components 1 and rear
components 2 and a common, extruded, center piece 3 to span the
distance between these extrusions, any number, size, and spacings of
cards or card packages can be supported with minor secondary
finishing.

The extrusions are cut to appropriate length and machined to
create the slots 4 for cards/card packages, books, holes for center
piece mounting, holes for the side panel attachment (side panels not
shown), and any required holes or machining that are system specific.
The extrusions include any necessary card catch geometry within
itself 5.

All extrusions are symmetrical so they can be used both on the
top and the bottom of the cage.
