Distribution List Generation from Teleconferencing Procedure

It is desirable to provide a method by which telephone numbers
used for teleconferences can automatically generate distribution
lists for electronic distribution systems.  This article describes a
mechanism by which the process of establishing a teleconference can
automatically generate an associated distribution list for use by an
electronic distribution system.

A Distribution List Parser Component, retrieves the telephone
number attributes entered during the establishment of the conference
call.  These attributes are resolved to an electronic address using a
directory service.  The appropriate query request is made and the
results correlated to the format of the distribution list.  The user
is presented with the results and can optionally, modify the
addresses if desired.  The service works in a passive mode, thus
allowing the user's act of establishing the call to save the
telephone information for subsequent electronic messages that may
need to be sent to users of the conference call.  More importantly,
the service allows users to have a list of addresses, automatically
generated based on the telephone numbers, i.e., dialing attribute.
This provides assistance for sending notes during the actual
conference as well.

As communication mediums within the office environment are
becoming increasingly integrated, it is becoming more desirable to
provide mechanisms for the coheren...
