Method to Allow Users to Select Transparent Color for Windows

A method for selecting a window to have a transparent
background is disclosed.  The transparent background allows view of
windows layered beneath it.

Currently, "Windows" on a GUI interface are opaque.  When one
window is placed over another window, you cannot see what is under
the window.  So if you are completing tasks in multiple windows, you
must open and close, re-size, or move windows about.  This is
especially cumbersome with multimedia applications where the user may
want to watch a video window and have a text window visible on the
screen simultaneously.  Either the video window is too small or the
text covers part of the video.

This invention allows users to select a color that will be
transparent if used as the background on the window.  Users can then
toggle back and forth between opaqueness and transparency for the
window.  This invention allows users to layer windows on top of each
other and see through the background of the window (see figure).
