Abstract

Many users do not respond by the designated time as specified by the originator. Moreover, prior art does not provide a mechanism by which the recipient can differentiate bit image notifications for differing originators of distributions. An originator may receive two distributions due on the same day, e.g., the Reply-By date is the same for two distributions.

Bit Image Originator Identification for Expired Date/Time Attributes

Many users do not respond by the designated time as specified
by the originator.  Moreover, prior art does not provide a mechanism
by which the recipient can differentiate bit image notifications for
differing originators of distributions.  An originator may receive
two distributions due on the same day, e.g., the Reply-By date is the
same for two distributions.

Current art would require the user to scan their inbasket logs
verifying dates of expiration.  A user could manually set up
Reminders for date/time attributes of distribution.  Recipients
desire automatic visual notifications when an action item is due for
a particular originator.  Moreover, user's desire graphical bit
images to be associated with the identity of the originator.

This mechanism would allow the recipient to be notified as to
which recipient needs a reply based on the type of bit image
displayed.  This method allows for unique characteristics of the
distribution and recipient to display unique bit images for the
notification of expired date/time attributes of distributions.
Activation is dependent upon the contents of the inbasket entries.
Prior art permits a single distribution to be sent to a multitude of
individuals with differing attributes.  This method allows for
specific bit images to be displayed when a distribution has expired
for a specified originator.
