Abstract

Disclosed is a label plate having an integral attachment hub which can be snapped into place in a cavity within a system unit cover. After this installation, the label plate can be rotated through a 90-degree angle to retain proper orientation of graphic information on the face of the label plate, on a system unit which can be operated in horizontal and vertical orientations.

Rotatable Label Plate

      Disclosed is a label plate having an integral attachment hub
which can be snapped into place in a cavity within a system unit
cover.  After this installation, the label plate can be rotated
through a 90-degree angle to retain proper orientation of graphic
information on the face of the label plate, on a system unit which
can be operated in horizontal and vertical orientations.

      Fig. 1 is an elevational view of the label plate from the
inside of the cover.  Fig. 2 is a cross-sectional view of the label
plate, being taken as indicated by line II-II in Fig. 1.  Fig. 3 is
another cross-sectional view, being taken as indicated by line
III-III in Fig. 1.

      A label plate 10, preferably made from a thermoplastic
material, includes a generally-circular, inward-extending hub 11,
configured to fit within a generally-circular cavity 12 in a system
unit cover 14.  The exterior surface 16 of label plate 10 includes
graphic information, such as a logo, which has a preferred
orientation.

      Label plate 10 is assembled into cover 14 from outside the
cover by first aligning hub 11 with cavity 12, and by aligning a key
16, extending outward from hub 11, with a slot 18, extending through
cover 14.  Label plate 10 is pressed so that hub 11 is pushed into
cavity 12, with a pair of flexible latches 20 being deflected inward
by contact between their inclined surfaces 22 and cavity 12.  When
