Computer Mouse with Improved Gripping Surfaces

Disclosed is a computer mouse having an overhanging upper edge
extending around inwardly curved sides.

As shown in the figure, a computer mouse 1 includes an external
edge 2 overhanging downward extending, inwardly curved side surfaces

3.  The mouse also includes conventional features, such as buttons 4,
which operate internal switches (not shown) to produce electrical
signals, a ball (not shown) rolling on a surface on which the mouse
is placed, means for converting the motion of this ball into
electrical signals, and an electrical cable 5 for transmitting such
electrical signals to a computing device.

The shape of edge 2 and side surfaces 3 facilitates lifting
mouse 1 so that it may be placed on a different part of the surface
on which it is operated.  This feature is particularly useful since
it facilitates lifting the mouse while maintaining the positions of
fingers on buttons 4.
