Spindle Rotation Velocity Monitor by Sector Interval Analysis

      Disclosed is a system for monitoring spindle rotation velocity
of hard disk drive by sector interval analysis.  This system prevent
hard disk drive from hard error caused by fluctuation of spindle
rotation velocity.

      The Figure shows the example of this system.  Register 1 takes
in the contents of free running timer (Tn) and register 2 takes in
previous value of register 1 (Tn-1) when sector pulse occurs.  And
sector interval time value (Tn - Tn-1) is set to register 3.
Comparater checks the value in register 3 and if it is out of the
range that is defined by register 4 (MAX.) and register 5 (MIN.)
value, the signal that stops hard disk controller writing data (WRITE
ABORT) generates.

      The capture trigger is not limited sector pulse but the signal
that is generated periodically and its interval is proportional to
spindle rotation velocity is also applicable.
