Module-Type Magnetic Stripe Reader

Disclosed is a module-type Magnetic Stripe Reader(MSR) which
consists of combined special modules or attachments.  Various types
of MSR can be built or arranged by any combination of the special
modules.  The disclosed module type MSR may have the following three
modules.

      -  MSR MODULE (Fig.1): It has one magnetic head with a
peripheral circuit and a bidirectional media pass slot.  The circuit
is able to read data on the magnetic media even if the media passes
from right to left or left to right in the slot.  The MSR MODULE is
plug-in-type, and so can be mounted in the BASE MODULE or on the
KEYBOARD MODULE.

      -  BASE MODULE (Fig.2): It is the base attachment which can be
plugged to the MSR MODULE.  The BASE MODULE can hold the MSR MODULE
in it in two way, normal direction or reverse direction.

      -  KEYBOARD MODULE (Fig.3): It is the keyboard which can be
attached to the MSR MODULE directly.

By combining those three modules, following three types of MSR
can be built up:

1.  MSR with keyboard (Fig.3) - The combination of MSR MODULE and
KEYBOARD MODULE It works as both keyboard and MSR.  It can be
applied to finance keyboard for a teller.

2.  Normal type MSR (Fig. 4) - The combination of MSR MODULE and BASE
MODULE.  It is the MSR that has the normal direction media pass
    slot (right to left).

3.  Reverse type MSR (Fig. 5) - The combination of MSR MODULE...
