Liquid Crystal Display Structure

      This article describes a structure of TN type LCD with
polarizer located between liquid crystal material layer and optical
scattering region which improves a viewing angle performance of LCD.

      The figure shows a structure of a transmission type LCD with a
scattering region 2.  Incident light would be polarized by first
polarizer 7 be transmitted through a liquid crystal layer 6 and be
repolarized by second polarizer 4.  Then light would pass a color
filter (1-3) and be scattered in scattering region 2.  This region
would improve optical viewing angle by scattering effect.  This
structure would apply special color filter structure which has dye
type polarizer on the surface of color filter.  This structure could
chose appropriate dyes for each blue, green or red color filters.
