Cornerless Chip Bank

Disclosed is a chip bank which is a plastic case for IC chips
having cornerless banks designed to prevent IC chips from being
damaged by chip bank handling.

As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, chips 5 and 10 are supported on chip
banks 1 and 2 without chip corner touching banks 1 and 2 due to
elimination of the corner of pockets 4 and 5.  Therefore, corner
damage of fragile silicon chips is prevented.

In Fig. 1, corner notch 3 is formed at the corner of pocket 4
where IC chip 5 is mounted.  Fig. 2 shows another example of this
disclosure, chip bank 2 has round notch 6 or gap 7 on ribs 8 at the
corner of a pocket 9.  Both examples can be applied at the same time
for efficient pocket layout on the chip bank.
