Utilization of Chiller Capacity Corrected for Jacket Cooling Water Temperature in Group Control

      Disclosed is a method of utilizing chiller capacity corrected
for jacket cooling water temperature by a controller for
high-efficient chiller group control.

      In a conventional chiller group control system (see Figs. 1 and
2), start or stop operations are basically controlled by the
comparison of cooling load with the preset constant of chiller rated
capacity in terms of calorie through a controller (1).  The rated
capacity is based on the design condition of jacket cooling at
chiller inlet.  In general, the jacket cooling water system is
designed to keep the control target by the cooling tower fan control
or three-way valve control.

      On the other hand, chiller capacity changes depending on jacket
cooling water temperature as shown in Fig.3.

      Figs. 4 and 5 show the new control system.  Jacket cooling
water temperature is controlled as low as possible by a cooling tower
fan control through controller (2), and the running chiller capacity
in compliance with the temperature is corrected by controller (1) for
chiller group control.

      An additional chiller starts when the cooling load increases
more than the corrected chiller capacity calculated as follows:
